Nidus Architects
Nidus Architects is a small, award winning architectural and design studio based in rural mid Wales. Our approach is guided by history, environment and a sense of place.
Our aim is to create architecture that resonates with character and charm. Drawing inspiration from traditional practices, culture, materials and form, we apply a contemporary approach to create buildings that engender a feeling of connection and belonging to both the surrounding landscape and the people who use them.
We take a pragmatic approach to sustainability, utilising tried and tested solutions such as thermal mass and building orientation to take advantage of passive heating and cooling. We encourage the use of traditional materials applied in a modern context, materials that can be locally sourced, easily repaired and have the ability to last a lifetime provide a forgotten way in which to build sustainably.
