Knucklas Castle Community Land Project
KCCLP manages 21 acres close to the border with England for the combined benefit of nature and the community. The land is crossed by the Heart of Wales Line Trail and consists of: a grass covered hill with lumps, where a castle once stood. Here are spectacular views over the Teme Valley, Offa’s Dyke and the borders. It stands 100m (330 ft) above Knucklas village with steep, wooded slopes and, below there are two fields, a community orchard and allotments.
The public has open access to the land and uses it for walking and recreation; study of flora, fauna and archaeology; getting close to nature; cultivation; seasonal celebratory events throughout the year.
